I have a special lady in my Woo Hot Seat today, that is the glorious jewellery-maven, Izzy Fellowes of Aluna Mae.
Best known for being one of the most lust-after jewellery brands on ASOS marketplace, her purely magical Instagram feed, and my Coachella blog; when I met ‘STEVIE’ (my black suede bolo wrap necklace).
Fast becoming the love of my (jewellery) life, STEVIE has accompanied me on many outfits (and I’ve received all the compliments, lucky woo) and I will continue to rock it out this season. Chokers are here to stay for a good while yet.
On that magical note, I wanted to know more about the dazzling beauty behind the brand… Who is Izzy Fellowes? Here, she shares with me her top styling tips, the latest jewellery trends and her outstanding collection.
PLUS to celebrate all things Aluna Mae, she is offering 20% discount for all Sarah Woo readers! *Live the dream* – continue reading to discover more, feel inspired and update your jewellery box pronto 🙂

In the last couple of years we’ve seen a huge shift in wellbeing; people just want to take care of themselves a little bit more. We want to live better, live well, we’re working out more and we’re paying closer attention to what fuel we’re putting into our bodies. I don’t know about you, but I love to get lost (and completely mesmerised) amongst Pinterest boards and Instagram images of all my favourite foodie bloggers offering up delicious, colourful, recipes with natural goodness. Where possible I try to eat organic too, and it really does make a difference.
So, we’ve got the healthy-eating down, we’re well on-board with all the great stuff we’re eating, but how about what’s happening on the outside? Our skin is our largest organ, everything you put onto it filters down and soaks into the rest of your body. With that in mind, have you ever asked yourself: “What ingredients are in that product?”
On my quest to find 100% natural and organic skincare – I spoke to my talented and mega-knowledgeable cousin (yes, I might be biased but she’s one of the greatest beauty therapists I know) Joanna Taplin, founder of Sunshine for the Soul. She introduced me to Pinks Boutique skincare, which I’ve now been using for seven months. The product is absolutely gorgeous, the results have been remarkable, and I can’t wait to share what other amazing things I’ve discovered too.
This has got to be one of my favourite fashion discoveries this year; the V by Very AW16 Collection.
Normally when I shop on very.co.uk, I buy homeware delights and never really considered it as a strong contender to fill my seasonal wardrobe… that was until I clapped eyes on their latest range (and lust-after fashionista and Strictly star, Daisy Lowe, is also the face of the campaign) .
There are so many beautiful pieces – and it’s not just me who’s loving it, British Vogue has also picked up on this absolute gem of a collection. See the feature in their supplement with this month’s (November 2016) issue – but if you can’t get to the shops quick enough, it’s OK, you can see their recommendations in fully glory here.
So, I packed a suitcase and did what I love to do best; a good ole little photoshoot. We had so much fun…
The location: a creative workspace with a touch of magic. We headed to the incredible WeWork in Paddington, London (WeWork have offices all over the world – check it out, they’re awesome). Their offices are themed ever so differently, with the aim to inspire. Imagine having ‘swings’ in a meeting room? Yeah that happened… and one of my happiest places was the toilet, as the walls were covered with flamingoes (I’m sure many of you will agree with me).
I’ve also got a little surprise in-store for you…
Well, I haven’t done a Woo Hot Seat in a while (showcasing my insanely talented and creative friends) but it’s been worth the wait; have I got a treat for you.
I’m absolutely honoured and delighted to introduce you to Julia Hardy, the creative genius behind CrownJules. If you’re heading to the races, a wedding or a special event this year; then you definitely need to know about Julia.
She is your one-stop destination for gorgeous accessories. On hand to make you the most beautiful bespoke hats and fascinators (ruling out the fear that someone else might wear the same one as you) and a passionate Stella & Dot Stylist; she offers her wisdom on all the latest jewellery trends, and how to put the final touches to your outfit.
Find out more about this amazing woman and how to get your very own CrownJules head-(master)piece 🙂
Where do I begin… I LOVE California. Me and my Smythson had one of the best trips of our lives.
We covered some serious ground work; from the desert in Palm Springs (Coachella!) back to The City of Angels (LA) then heading over to the delights of Santa Barbara, to sample the most delicious wines. We had a blast.
Here’s my diary from eight epic days doing all-things-Cali.
As soon as we booked our tickets to Coachella back in January (after a nail-biting 1hr 20mins wait to purchase our tickets online, you’ve never seen me so excited/emotional, and sat so still for that amount of time) – my immediate obsession commenced, ‘outfit planning’.
What was I going to wear? And THREE different outfits… I relentlessly searched Pinterest, blogs, every platform possible using the hashtag #CoachellaStyle and did my SS16 trends research (prompting me to write Top 10 Spring 2016 trends to follow right now).
I went for three very different looks: a little rock chic (supporting one of my faves, Ellie Goulding) in outfit 1. – a sassy, with a funky edge, vibe in outfit 2. – and going completely boho and all tassel-tastic, pom poms included, for outfit 3.
Sharing the love: Heading to a festival this year too? Let me help you… Here’s the lowdown on what outfits I wore, and you can shop most of these items straight from this blog! Happiness.

So, the first weekend of Coachella is done and dusted (I’ve tried not to look at the press / the Instagram feed this weekend, to keep an element of surprise, but failed miserably!) meaning the countdown for weekend two is officially on! It’s my first time to Coachella, Palm Springs, and LA in fact… I am so excited and cannot wait to fly out with the girls on Thursday.

Last night, hundreds of us piled into the National Portrait Gallery to celebrate a special event, The Late Shift Extra: Vogue 100 After Hours.
I was there with the girls for a truly magical evening; full of inspiration, and a trip down memory lane. As well as enjoying the exhibition itself, Vogue 100: A Century of Style – showcasing an array of Vogue covers (with lots of: “Oh yeah, I remember that cover” moments) and the most divine, and captivating, fashion photography – with some extras thrown in too.
We listened to a talk with British Vogue’s Picture Editor, Mike Trow, on how he sets the vision and direction behind a Vogue photoshoot. Central St Martins’ students treated us to a live catwalk show through the gallery. MAC Cosmetics gave us a pop of colour with their lipstick make-up stations. We hung out with Kate Middleton (well, with her portrait #squadgoals). Drank delicious bubbles from the speakeasy bar, and starred in our very own photoshoot in the Out of Order photo-theatre.
So much fun to be had… Here’s a little photo diary of what we got up to.
Hiiiii new season. We are fully immersed in spring mode people. The sunshine is out, the lighter mornings and evenings are just glorious, and we’re dreaming of getaways and spring breaks…
Don’t get me wrong I love all seasons of the year, but what does a new season beckon? Exactly, a new wardrobe.
Bursting with so much colour and so much joy; from high end to high street, here are the key SS16 trends to inspire your new wardrobe – and to invest in, right now.
Happy spring time! It’s got me thinking about holidays… One of my new year’s resolutions this year was to travel more and discover new places.
First up, I’ve just booked flights to go to Coachella. I have never been to the iconic Arts and Music Festival (think Glastonbury in the middle of the desert) or California, so I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am 🙂
Every holiday, I always have a trusty travel companion that comes with me; my Smythson travel wallet. Personalised SMC, just for me, this wallet keeps all my valuables in good order and works as a nifty, and beautiful, clutch bag too. Multi-tasking at its finest.
Two wonderful years ago, my darling friend Trudy suggested that I should start blogging about my personal style and from there, the Style Files were born (cheers Trudes!) – and I promise so many more will be coming in 2016 too.
Trudy is a keen photographer – shooting the majority of my style files – and bless her, she has taught me so much. I have now invested in my very own Canon DSLR and cannot wait to get snapping.
To my greatest surprise, Trudy booked us a photoshoot at Vanity Studios in London (mainly because she was approached by one of their sales reps on Oxford Street and just couldn’t say no 😉 But now, I’m so glad she didn’t) to give us both some photography experience, teach us a trick or two and ultimately, get some inspiration. I have to say, I was pretty chuffed with the results.
A super fun girls day out, which exceeded all my expectations and more. Here’s the lowdown of our experience and the pictures we chose to keep in the end.
Oooh project! I love a challenge, especially when it’s a boohoo.com challenge.
Who else? It has to be Cher Horowitz – I LOVE HER. And yes, I want to be her, for a day… Here’s how I took on this mighty amazing challenge.
When I hit my teens (along with many girls’ dreams) I couldn’t wait to gain my curves. The ‘girls’ (boobs), the hips, the bum – all the things that make you feel womanly, sexy and exuberant. Amazingly (and I’m sure many women will agree with this too), you sometimes get a little bit less, or a little bit more, than you bargained for. And for me, it’s the latter.
Ever since my early 20’s, I’ve been a plus size bra. I’m not complaining at all – I’m happy, proud and content with the goods that god blessed me with – but I’ve always found it a real struggle to find lingerie I truly love. If anything, I’ve found anything over a DD+ to feel and look somewhat ‘industrial’ and not as alluring compared to smaller cup sizes. I guess you can’t have it all…
Then I discovered Chantelle. A brand with the most beautiful lingerie and a lovely story – dating back to 1876 and still being run by the same family (five generations later) today.
Their heritage, commitment and craftsmanship dedicated purely to the woman’s body is incredible; bursting us out of corsets and creating the first ever girdle in the 1940s, and unveiling their first bra in the 1960s – all hand sewn for our love and pleasure. AND, it looks and feels AMAZING on. I can’t wait to share all with you…
Today, I’ve enjoyed a very cultural, and very lovely, sunshiny Sunday. I caught up with friends and we headed to the Louis Vuitton Series 3 exhibition on The Strand in London.
The exhibition offered up a modern and electric twist on the Louis Vuitton (LV) AW15 runway show, created and influenced by LV’s Women’s Artistic Director, Nicolas Ghesquière.
We saw the ‘magic trunk’, stood (and slightly strutted) on the catwalk which has been especially transported over from Paris for the exhibition. Exclusive behind-the-scenes footage on how a LV clutch bag is made and to our complete surprise, we stumbled upon a LV “artiste” constructing a clutch bag for us all to watch – amazing. I could have watched her all day… And if that’s not enough, how does a walk-in wardrobe sound? We. Were. Spoilt.
If you can get to this exhibition, GO. I definitely recommend it – and it’s free! (I know, how exciting) and it’s running until the 18th October. Book online here to secure your slot.
For those that can’t make it… I’ve got it covered. Unlike many exhibitions, this one was camera-friendly, so I took as many pictures as I possibly could to share with you! Check them out here.
I don’t know about you, but I absolutely LOVE stationery; at home, at work, I just can’t get enough of it. Especially when there’s an ink pad and stamp involved – along with the funniest little sayings to raise the biggest smiles 🙂
I’ve also treated myself to some snazzy, new business cards too! What do you think?
Come join me in my magical stationery kingdom with kate spade new york and MOO…
